As poets and storytellers have mastered the elements of their craft, so too, have we mastered the art of blending together some of the finest ingredients that the earth has given us. Each and every product harmonizes raw ingredients in a sensorial experience that tells a story and cultivates joy.
One of the first questions we are asked when people discover our little shop is: "Are you a clean brand?"; to us, that is a nuanced word and when used incorrectly, can drive unnecessary fear. Did you know that the word "clean" isn't a regulated term with any legislation surrounding it?
There are so many established brands that utilize (and weaponize) this little word as a part of their larger-scale marketing strategy and this isn't something we're comfortable with. “Clean” language can have negative connotations and create unvalidated fear-mongering — we do not stand with this.
Our formulations are purposeful in their functionality, and devoid of ingredients that are unnecessary. No, we do not use parabens, SLS or petroleum because "greenwashing" has conditioned us to recognize these ingredients as "bad" and "toxic". We do not include them because we are able to formulate products without using them.
We do not test on animals (only on humans, for whom they are intended) and our products are mostly vegan, like our nail polishes, lip glosses, hand & cuticle oils.
Our Nail Polish
Our nail polish are handcrafted using ingredients that are 12-free and are produced without the following:
- Benzene
- Bismuth Oxychloride
- Camphor
- DBP - Dibutyl Phthalate
- Ethyl Tosylamide
- Formaldehyde
- 4-Methoxyphenol
- Parabens
- Phthalates
- Toluene
- Triphenyl Phosphate
- Xylene
A note on the fragrances that we use:
We are very selective & mindful of what fragrances we use in our formulation; there are no endocrine-disruptive ingredients and are always phthalate-free and paraben-free, because we recognize how important that is to our clients.
